March 24th, 2012 – “Anniversary” Work Team – North Georgia Church:

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (Eph. 6:7)

Anytime we get a call from someone wanting to come to the “Valley” with a work team to help with our HUGE “To Do List”, we are always excited and blessed. But when someone calls and tells us that the date they would like to come just happens to be their 2nd wedding anniversary and they want to get a group from their church to come and celebrate with them while serving the Lord, well… we’re just amazed and a little speechless!

That’s exactly what happeserving the Lord togetherned when Jim and Lisa Carr from North Georgia Church in Dawsonville, Georgia called and told us they wanted to help! And we’re sure it will be an anniversary celebration that they will not soon forget, serving the Lord!

They came with several car loads of family and friends from church, (including their pastor, Dale Crawshaw, as well as our very own board members, Charlie and Becky Wilson!) a large supply of flowers, bulbs and assorted plants, chain saws, landscaping tools and LUNCH! (We were happy to supply the “Happy Anniversary” cake!)

They also came with a HUGE desire to make a difference and they certainly accomplished that! With every little bit of effort and change that is brought to this ministry, God seems to know just how to “multiply that seed”! (He’s very good at that!)ladies serving the lord

The guys took down the overgrowth of vines along with some dead/dying trees at the entrance and really opened that area up!

We got some help from our dear friend and neighbor, Bob Flack, along with his trusty tractor for easier debris removal.

The ladies went to work weeding, digging and planting some “color” in our established flower beds, up and around the Mill House, as well as planting some bulbs for a nice addition of perennials. (We’re looking forward to seeing them pop up in the next couple of weeks!)

serving the lord menIt seems that, almost daily, God is putting desires on people’s hearts to come and be a part of what He’s doing at Fellowship Valley. It is so encouraging to be a part of His overall Plan and to know that He has it all… in the Palm of His Hand!

Happy Anniversary, Jim and Lisa! May the Lord continue to bless your lives together with every conceivable blessing as you commit your marriage, family and lives to His Purpose!

The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. (1Cor. 3:8)
